Stanford Counselor Outreach Program
The Stanford Counselor Outreach Program is an annual program for counselors from high schools, community based organizations (CBOs), and community colleges that help under-represented students make a successful transition from school to college. The program’s purpose is to build a foundation for understanding the elements of this transition through the exchange of information, training, discussion, workshops, and sharing.
Topics
Program topics include: decision making at highly selective institutions, financial aid, school and CBO profile development, serving low-income and first-generation students, student support services on college campuses and more.
Apply
Due to the collaborative nature of the program and the desire to include professionals with diverse perspectives, all interested counselors are asked to fill out an application. We use the application to select counselors from across the United States. The Stanford Counselor Outreach Program is traditionally held on the Stanford campus in late July.
