Counselor Outreach Program

Stanford Counselor Outreach Program

The Stanford Counselor Outreach Program is an annual program for counselors from high schools and community based organizations (CBOs) that help under-represented students make a successful transition from school to college. The program's purpose is to exchange information and build a foundation for understanding the elements of this transition through training, discussion, workshops, and sharing.

Program topics include: decision making at highly selective institutions, financial aid, school and CBO profile development, serving low-income and first-generation students, student support services on college campuses, and more.

The 2017 Counselor Outreach Program will be held on the Stanford campus from August 2–4. Due to the collaborative nature of the program and the desire for a range of voices, space will be limited. Applications to attend the Stanford Counselor Outreach Program will be accepted until January 3, 2017, and all applicants will be notified early Spring 2017.
